Molly has been my daughter for 2.5 months. The time goes by so quickly.
Just some random observations:
1. Mommy's of pre-schoolers need naps but the pre-schooler never does.
2. Going to the bathroom, taking a shower, reading a book, exercising...are all group events.
3. There are many ways to say "no" and most of them are ineffective.
4. Even with limited language, a 5 year old can make their opinions known.
5. What is "Yummy" today, may be "Yucky" tomorrow.
6. Understanding "Mommy will be back" is not something adopted kids understand.
7. But, Mommy never gets to leave if she is a solo parent,
so #6 is not needed that often. (Although it would be nice if #6 was understood so said pre-schooler could go to Sunday School and Mommy could listen to the sermon.)
8. Mommy's need haircuts but shudder at the thought of getting that done when it is impossible to go without the pre-schooler along because being able to corral the child while your hair is getting cut is impossible. Let's not even mention getting more done than just a cut.
9. Girls night out - unlikely, see #6 - as is Bible study small group.
10. As language is rapidly developing, Molly has a lot to say - ALL THE TIME!
11. Hugs, kisses, and "I lub you!" makes all of the above worthwhile.
